ABOUT ME!
Hi! I'm Julia Orr (she/they), a Freshman at Belmont University, double majoring in Theatre Directing and Public Advocacy. I’m passionate about creating, directing, producing, and writing theatre—really, anything related to it!
My work is deeply rooted in the raw, unfiltered power of Southern storytelling—where every gesture, word, and pause carries weight. My grandma (Cha Cha), though never a professional theatre artist, taught me the art of storytelling, showing me how a well-told story can hold an audience captive.
But my theatre isn’t just about storytelling—it’s an experience. I strive to craft performances that shake people to their core, challenging perceptions and pulling them into worlds that are gritty, jarring, and deeply human. My goal is to confront tough questions, defy expectations, and leave an impression that lingers long after the final blackout.
At its heart, my work is about reimagining what theatre can be. I see it as a powerful tool for understanding—a bridge between people in a world that craves connection. Through innovative and thought-provoking storytelling, I aim to make audiences question, reflect, and feel. I want my theatre to be visceral, raw, and unforgettable because I believe the stories we choose to tell—and how we tell them—matter more than ever.
If you’re passionate about pushing boundaries and creating theatre that leaves a lasting impact, let’s collaborate. I’m always on the lookout for bold storytellers who want to disrupt the norms and bring fresh, daring ideas to the stage.
Let’s make a mark.
